Claymation History
Claymation is a form of animated which is created using plasticine and stop-motion.
One of the first claymation animations was created by Aardman and it was called 'Morph'.
Aardman was founded in 1972 by Peter Lord and David Sproxton.
Morph was produced for the BBC for children to watch. It was a simple character made out of plasticine and was created by using stop-motion. To do this, they had to move the Morph slowly into different places that they wanted the Morph to be in, and take picture shots of each movement. Although the Morph character isn't around anymore, other clay characters have then been created, such as, Wallace and Gromit.
