My Cut Out Animation Evaluation
For this part of our work, we had to cut out some images from a magazine and we had to create a story out of the images that we used.
Our story for this cut out animation was about a mother and a daughter who went shopping and then they made their way home. During their time at shopping, one guy was walking by and then he bumped into one of the other guys. Another person came along and tried to stop that argument, then they walked away.
After that, there was a monster in the house, so the mother and the daughter came out of the house. The monster got the daughter so this guy came to save the daughter and gave her back to her mother. On the left hand side, we saw an old man who was shocked about the situation.
Once the guy killed the monster, everyone was happy and then they all started dancing around.
Overall, I don't think our istop Motion clip was clear enough for anyone to understand what was actually going on, as the speed of the clip was quite fast. I did try to slow it down, but it kept cutting out parts of our clip, so we just decided to leave it as it was.
I think that to improve our istop Motion we should try to make it slower and have a clearer storyline so that people will be able to understand what's actually going on.
Strengths Of Cut Out Animation:
- It's cheap
- You can create your own world's
- You can create your own locations
- You can create your own characters
Limitations Of Cut Out Animation:
- It's time consuming (compared to other types of animation)
- You can't turn the images, rotate them or make the images come forwards, creating a 3D effect.
