My Video Profile Evaluation

As part of my creative media induction project, I had to make a video profile about myself. This was to see what I was capable of doing on this course. I've done media before so I had some understanding of what this course was about.
Doing this project has made me learn what the 5 shot rule is. This includes; An Extreme Close-Up Shot, a Close-Up Shot, a Wide Shot, an Over The Shoulder Shot and a Creative Shot.

In order to get started with the project, I made a Prezi account and started to make a mind map of the main points that I could put in my video profile. Doing this made me have a clear idea of what I was going to say in my video so I started to write my script.

Once I wrote my script, I started to plan my video making sure that everything I was going to say was in the right order. I also done my shooting script showing the different camera shots that I was going to use.

One of my targets was to make sure that I filmed the first part of my video profile quickly so that I could continue filming the other parts of my video. So I went to get a camera and started filming. I had used a camera before so I didn't find it difficult to use when filming.

After I had filmed all of the scenes for my video profile, I then imported the videos to Final Cut Pro.

I had never used Final Cut Pro before, so I didn't understand how to use it, but as I used it more, it seemed quite straight forward to use.
I made sure that I used most of the 5 shot rules in my video, added pictures, music and transitions to make my video profile more interesting.

In this project, as well as evaluating my own video profile, I had to make sure that others evaluated it, giving me feedback on the positive and negative parts of my video.

The positive feedback I got was that the music was good because it didn't make it boring, the sound was clear and it was good that I used different effects and camera shots.

The negative feedback was that I needed to be more lively when speaking, be confident and to make sure that the sound was right in some parts of the video.

Overall, I think my video profile was ok and I like the camera shots that I used, but I think there were quite a few things that I could improve on. Such as making sure that the music isn't too loud when I'm speaking, being confident in front of the camera and making my video more creative.

The next time I do a video, I will make sure that I'm confident when in front of the camera. I'm also going to make sure that the music and my voice will be clear, I'll be more creative when making a video and I will try out new and different things.
